Our journey to Winnsboro started in August of 2020. We were traveling around Texas looking for a place to move to from California to live a simpler life. We were passing through Winnsboro on our way to Sulphur Springs when we stopped at the caboose to take a picture. When Stefi jumped up on the caboose, she thought something bit her on the arm. It turned out to a wasp sting from a nest that was disturbed. As we got back in the car, we turned to each other and said “I guess that is a sign to not come back to Winnsboro.” We ended up staying in Sulphur Springs for several nights and decided to come back to the area to stay and see if it was the place for us.
In December of 2020 while staying in Sulphur Springs for a week we found Stella Bella Airbnb in Winnsboro and planed a stay there in February of 2021 for a month. This was when the big freeze hit and there was a foot of snow. During this month we spent more time exploring and meeting the residents of Winnsboro. Over the next two years, we spent as much time as we could in Winnsboro and decided it was the place for us. Something kept drawing us back and in August of 2022, we purchased a house on the west side of town and made our move and started selling our products at Canton each month.
In December of 2023, we opened the retail space on the Bowery and shortly after opened the Bistro side with a limited menu as we began building out the restaurant.
